Making a Plant Garland

Step 1. Prepare your greenery by cutting it into sections. For princess pine, cut clusters 2 inches long to get a garland 2 inches wide. For a fuller garland, leave the greenery in sprays — little clusters growing from a section of stem that can be wired onto the cord.

Step 2. Approximate how long you need the garland to be by loosely wrapping the string around the wreath the way you will want it when you are done. Remember when spacing out the garland that the string will be a lot wider when it has plants on it, so be generous with space between the windings. Add about 6 inches for tying and mark the premeasured length onto the cord, but don’t cut it until you are finished and sure it is long enough.
